Here is another opportunity to visit the Autumn Weekends in Valtellina ~ grapes, apples, typical products of a fruit-growing region rich in tradition.
At Villa di Tirano, a few kilometers from Bormio, from Wednesday October 10 to Sunday October 14 is scheduled the 24th edition of the festival which focuses on the two precious fruits of the earth.
The autumnal wine event includes conferences, exhibitions, dancing to country music, an Apple Train coming from Milan, choral festivals, shows, typical products, excursions, helicopter transfers and of course the competition "Best Apple" in the province of Sondrio.
Risotto with Apples or Pizzocheri

Cheeses from the Valtellina
Levissima Mineral Water
Dozens of volunteers are committed to this Harvest Festival of Farmers throughout the province.
If you are unable to be there here is a recipe of my grandmother's apple fritters you must try:
Ingredients: 4 apples, peeled and sliced ½ cm thick
For the batter: 200 gr.flour, 2 dl.milk, 3 eggs, 100 gr. of sugar, a pinch of cinnamon and a pinch of salt.
Preparation: Put the flour in a bowl, mix in the milk, egg yolks, and salt. Mix very well.
Combine the egg whites beaten until stiff and sugar. Dip the apples into the batter and fry in oil until golden. The fritters are then rolled in cinnamon and sugar and served hot.
