Bormio and its valleys offer many natural attractions: majestic mountains, mountain passes, lush forests, meadows, hot springs, alpine lakes, huge glaciers, pristine flora and fauna .. in total silence you can hear the sounds of nature and forget the noises and chaos of every day .life. It is difficult to describe these feelings, only those who feel them will return .. because they will be stunned by such a beauty ...
The valley of Bormio is so called since it is surrounded by a mountain chain which includes four main groups: Ortles Cevedale, Piazzi, Red Stone and Fraele.
The mountains of Alta Valtellina are among the highest in the Alps and thanks to the altitude between 4000 m and 1225 m. the town of Bormio gives strong emotions to anyone who practices an Alpine sport.
The highest peaks are found in the Ortles Cevedale group such as Mount Ortles (3905 m.), Mount Reit, overlooking Bormio, Gran Zebru and Tresero.
Also the famous glacier of Forni belongs to this group. In summer mountain guides organize trips for well trained people or for those who do not have special skills. From its summit you can admire its majesty in fact it is one of the largest glaciers in the Alps and you will be really excited.
